Young seeking Mamou’s District Four seat
Robin Young recently announced his candidacy for the Mamou Town Council seat in District Four. His announcement is as follows:
“My name is Robin Young and today I am announcing my candidacy for the Mamou Town Council seat in District Four.
“My entire family was saddened by the passing of Mr. J.L. Saucier and we would like to express our admiration for the job he did during his 21 years as town councilman. I grew up around Mr. J.L. and have always admired his sense of humor and his dedication to serving the Town of Mamou. We would also like to say how much we admire Mrs. Helen for stepping in to fill her husband’s seat until the election in October.
“I’m 41 years old and have lived in Mamou all of my life. I am married to the former Missy Marcantel and we have two daughters, Mallory, who is 10, and Marissa, who is nine years old. My wife and I have chosen to raise our children in Mamou and we feel a responsibility to help make our town the best it can be.
“I’ve worked with the public all of my life, whether it be in appliance repair, at a gas station or in a furniture store. I worked for our cable company for 10 years, and for the last seven years, I’ve worked for Centurytel Telephone Company.
“I’ve volunteered my time to serve with the Mamou Volunteer Fire Department, boy scouts, youth groups and the softball league.
“I’m young and energetic and I promise to work hard for all of the citizens of District Four and all of Mamou to make our town a place we can be proud to call home,” Young said.
