POPLARVILLE, Miss. - Host team Pearl River won their opening game of the Regional 23 Tournament Thursday as the Wildcats beat Northeast Mississippi 9-3.

In the earlier game of the day, Gulf Coast came from behind to beat Meridian 5-4 in ten innings - a game that was delayed by stormy weather on Wednesday.
