Bengals head to NCJAA Baseball World Series

POPLARVILLE, Miss. - The Bengals must love the drama of a come-from-behind win.
Louisiana State University at Eunice had to rally in both games Sunday including the Region 23 championship game against Pearl River, the team who put the Bengals in the loser's bracket on Saturday.
LSUE scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning in the title game to grab a 12-9 win over PRCC and earn a berth in the NJCAA baseball World Series that begins Saturday in Millington, Tenn.
Tyler Slocum, Matt Creel and Kellen Bozeman all hit home runs against PRCC, but Delta Cleary's 2- RBI double provided the decisive runs for the Bengals.
Cleary drove in Chase Blanchard and Boomer Blanchard on his hit to centerfield and Bozeman later scored Cleary for the critical three-run lead.
Pearl River's final chance was snuffed out by closer Slocum who struck out two of the last three Wildcat batters.
The NJCAA World Series bracket will be released later this week. The series is set for May 24-30 in Millington, located near Memphis, Tenn.
