Lafleur, Campbell take the top prizes in contests

The 2013 Pigskin Picks and the Football Contest wrapped up last week. After 13 weeks of hard-fought battle, the results finally rolled in.
In the Football Contest, Hank Lafleur took the $100 grand prize. Lafleur placed in the top three in eight of 13 weeks, including third place in week 13. Lafleur totaled up 16 points overall. Second to Lafleur was last year’s winning duo of Kevin Guillory and Justin Johnson who each placed 11 points.
In the Pigskin Picks, Bruce Campbell unseated last year’s champion, Sports Editor Lance Reed. Campbell finished the year with an impressive 97-33 overall record.
The runner-up to Campbell was publisher David Ortego. Ortego went 94-36 on the season and was one of the few guests to predict Auburn to beat Alabama in week 13. In third place, newcomer Lori Butler slid in with an overall record of 93-37. Butler spent most of the season in first place but fell back just a bit as the season came to a close.
Reed finished fourth in a tie with Richard Guillory. The two had a record of 91-39.
