Parade honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Monday

Local officials and others joined in the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. parade in Ville Platte.
The parade occurred on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, January 20.
The parade started at the Ville Platte High School stadium and proceeded west along MLK Street, ending at the Martin Luther King Community Center. A special program then took place at the community center.
Rev. Eradly Ben, pastor of Antioch Baptist Church, was the grand marshal for the parade
The parade was sponsored by the Evangeline Parish Martin Luther King Foundation Committee.
