Preparations, donations being made for Swamp Pop Reunion IX

Donations are being made and preparations are underway for the ninth annual Swamp Pop Reunion Concert, to be held at the Northside Civic Center on Monday, March 3.
House band Warren Storm, Willie Tee and Cypress will provide musical entertainment for the event, and Legends of Swamp Pop will headline the dance.
Performers at the dance will include Johnnie Allan, Grace Broussard, Van Broussard, Roy Chaffin, Jivin’ Gene, T.K. Hulin, Tommy McLain, Jerry Raines, Jay Randall, Earl Taylor, Gene Terry, Kenny Thibs, Charles Veillon, Mike Vice and more.
Besides the musical entertainment and dance, the event will include door prizes, raffles, a cash bar and gumbo. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the music will start at 7 p.m.
Tickets to the reunion dance -- for $20 per person -- are available at the Swamp Pop Museum, Ville Platte City Hall and KVPI.
Proceeds from the reunion event will benefit the Louisiana Swamp Pop Museum.
