Donald Wayne “Uncle” Thrasher

TURKEY CREEK - Funeral services will be held for Donald Wayne “Uncle” Thrasher, 74, of Turkey Creek, at the Turkey Creek Pentecostal Church at 2 p.m., Friday, February 14. Burial will follow in the Turkey Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Thrasher died Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was a foreman and heavy equipment operator for T. L. James. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Survivors include his loving wife, Kathy W. Thrasher of Pine Prairie; six sons, Donald Daniel Thrasher of Reddell, Shannon Wayne Thrasher and Jared Lance Thrasher, both of Turkey Creek, Terry Preston Ware of Baker, Jimmy Fuselier Jr. of Oakdale and Larry Deville of Glenmora; four daughters, Angela Theresa Fontenot of Reddell, Dorothy Ann Blood of Turkey Creek, Cauley Crews of Oakdale and Kristal D. Doyle of Pine Prairie; three brothers, Jimmy Thrasher of Turkey Creek, J.C. “Frog” Thrasher of Forest Hill and Thomas Thrasher of Pine Prairie; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Mary Holden Thrasher; three brothers, Luckett Thrasher, Otis Thrasher and L.J. Thrasher; and two sisters, Geneive Blood and Addie Belle Deshotel.
Pall bearers were James Fontenot, Terry Thrasher, Stoney Blood, Farley Blood, Charles Blood and Derrick Thrasher.
Rev. Jeffrey Wainwright will officiate.
White Oaks Funeral Home of Oakdale will be in charge of arrangements.
