4-H Sew with Cotton show to be held February 27

The 2014 Evangeline Parish 4-H “Sew-With-Cotton” and “Spring Clothing” Style Show and Awards Ceremony sponsored by the Evangeline Parish Volunteers for Family and Community, Ville Platte Super Wal-Mart Center, and the Evangeline Parish LSU AgCenter will be held at the Ville Platte Super Center Wal Mart on Thursday, February 27, at 6 p.m.
Ten 4-H members from around the parish are participating in the “Sew-With-Cotton” Contest, and six 4-H members are competing in the Spring Clothing contest. These 4-H’ers will be modeling the garments they have made for this contest.
Participating in the Spring Clothing Contest are the following:
Fourth - Sixth Grade Bottoms Only Category - Emma Johnson, Good Shepherd Home School, sixth grade.
Fourth - Sixth Grade Apron Category - Charley Bieber, Mamou Elementary fifth grade; and Lauren Oyster, Basile Elementary sixth grade.
Seventh - Eighth Grade Complete Outfit category - Gabrielle Fontenot, Sacred Heart Elementary seventh grade; Whitney Ledoux, Ville Platte High eighth grade; and Julianne Reed, Sacred Heart Elementary seventh grade.
4-H’ers participating in the Sew With Cotton Contest are the following:
Fourth - Sixth Grade Apron Category - Madison Courville, Vidrine Elementary fourth grade; Laura Elnaggar, Pine Prairie Elementary fourth grade; Angel Graser, Bayou Chicot Elementary fifth grade; Josie LeJeune, Mamou Elementary fourth grade; Lindsey Meylian, Bayou Chicot Elementary sixth grade; Mena Newman, Good Shepherd Home School fourth grade; Mary Katherine Dupre, Sacred Heart Elementary fifth grade; and Grace Powers, Bayou Chicot Elementary sixth grade.
In the Seventh - Eighth Grade Division, a complete outfit must be constructed. Participating is Elayne Elnaggar, Bayou Chicot Elementary seventh grade.
In the Senior Division, a complete outfit must be constructed. Participating is Savannah Watts, Sacred Heart High 12th grade.
The announcement of winners and presentation of awards will be given by Mrs. Jackie Miller, Evangeline Parish Volunteers for Family and Community Council President following the style show.
