Funeral services will be held for Forest Richard Serie Jr., 61, of Ville Platte, at St. Matthew Baptist Church in Ville Platte at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 1. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Serie died Thursday, February 20, 2014, at his residence.
Survivors include his loving companion of 32 years, Barbara Collins of Ville Platte; three sons, Robert Serie, Forest Richard Serie III and Shannon LeBlanc, all of Ville Platte; two sisters, Sandra Serie and Linda Serie, both of Ville Platte; seven brothers, Terry Serie Sr. (Dora), Warren Serie and Ferrell Serie, all of Ville Platte, Roy Serie Sr. (Priscilla) and Michael Serie, both of Broussard, Kenneth Serie (Barbara) of Mamou, and Quincy Serie of Eunice; two Godchildren, Quincy Serie and Terry Serie Jr., both of Ville Platte; two grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Forest R. Serie Sr. and Cecilia Arvie Serie.
Rev. Freddie Durgan will officiate.
