Suspect arrested in drive-by shooting

Ville Platte Police Chief Neal Lartigue reported that the Ville Platte Police Department responded to a call at approximately 8 p.m. Sunday, March 2, involving shots being fired from a vehicle in the 600 Block of East Beauregard.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with witnesses and the victim and learned the suspect shot two rounds out of his vehicle at the victim’s vehicle with both shots going through the back glass and one bullet lodging in the dashboard of the vehicle. No one was injured during the incident.
Officers arrested Albert Scott, 63, 1551 L’anse De Cavalier, Ville Platte. Scott was booked into the Ville Platte City Jail without incident and was charged with assault by drive by shooting. Scott remains incarcerated with no bond information available at this time.
