VICKSBURG, Miss. - Funeral services were held for Frank Norman Johnson, 76, of Vickburg, Mississippi, on Friday, March 7, in Vicksburg.
Mr. Johnson died Monday, March 3, 2014, at his residence. He was born in LeCompte on January 20, 1938. He was a former resident of Forest Hill and Turkey Creek and also had been a resident of Vicksburg, Mississippi, since 1976. He was the son of the late Frank Johnson and Jessie Mae Coffey Johnson. He was a member of Crossway Church in Vicksburg, Mississippi. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He received his discharge on June 25, 1962, with the rank of Corporal. He received a bachelor of science degree and a civil engineering degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. He was employed as a civil engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mississippi River Commission, retiring January 3, 2005, with 39 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen Carter Johnson of Vicksburg, Mississippi; two sons, Philip Norman Johnson (Madeleine) of Livingston, Montana, and Craig Allen Johnson (Jennifer) of Brandon, Mississippi; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, David Dwight Johnson of Slidell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Jeaneane Johnson Russell; and two brothers, Ronald Johnson and Larry Johnson.
