Possible severe thunderstorms Thursday

The National Weather Service in Lake Charles is monitoring the possibility of strong to severe thunderstorms Thursday afternoon and evening across our region. Currently, the threat for severe weather is very low (5%), but this will be reviewed this afternoon (March 26). A line of showers and thunderstorms is expected to move across the region, beginning in east Texas Thursday afternoon, and end in south central Louisiana Thursday night. A few of these storms could be strong to severe, capable of producing damaging winds, large hail, or even a tornado.
