Demons end season at No. 4 Kinder

For the Mamou Green Demons, it has been a long and tough season. The Demons are 1-8 on the year and their last game sends them up against Kinder, the fourth ranked team in the Class 2A power ratings. 

The Yellow Jackets clinched the District 4-2A crown last week with a 19-18 double overtime win against Welsh. It was a game that solidified the Yellow Jackets place amongst the elite of Class 2A. 

The Yellow Jackets have just one loss this season and that was an 18-15 loss to Class 3A Westlake in week four. Since then, the Jackets have been on a tear. They are putting up 30 points a game, while holding teams to less than 10 points per game. 

Mamou’s offensive woes give them a severe disadvantage in this game, not to mention they are going on the road to KHS. The Demons have not scored since week six against DeQuincy and are averaging less than a touchdown per game. The lack of production on offense has caused the defense to sit on the field for long periods of time. 

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. in Kinder.
