Anna Lee Manuel

Funeral services will be held for Anna Lee Manuel, 87, of Ville Platte, at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 4 p.m., Thursday, April 24. Burial will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Cemetery.
A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Ms. Manuel died Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Lafayette General Medical Center. surrounded by her loving family. She dedicated her life to the well being of her precious family. She was a long-time employee of the Selective Service. She began her career in 1944 and worked tirelessly until she retired in 1976 with the title of executive secretary. She also was a devoted member of the Catholic Daughters and Come Lord Jesus.
Survivors include two daughters, Gwen Manuel Forrisdale and her husband, Frank, of Woodville, Texas, and Elizabeth A. Manuel Johnson and her husband, Raymond, of Breaux Bridge; four adoring grandchildren, Cyd Ann Morien and Clint, Cory and Christopher Johnson; and four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Paige and Dustin Weaver and Ava Johnson. They were her absolute greatest joy in life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hubert Joseph Manuel; and her parents, Odey and Clara Mae Deshotels.
Father Mitchell Guidry will officiate.
