Mayor distributes free pepper plants

Mayor Jennifer Vidrine handed out free pepper plants to people who drove past her, behind the Northside Civic Center starting at 11 a.m. Friday, June 6. Evangeline Feed Store provided the 1,113 hot, banana and jalapeno peppers. “Were happy to be able to give the citizens of Ville Platte these plants,” the mayor said, adding, “It’s our lagniappe.
