Heritage Manor News: Importance of happiness

Happiness is defined as the quality or state of being happy and having good fortune, pleasure, contentment and joy. The sound of laughter is more contagious than a cough, sniffle or sneeze. Humor and laughter can cause a domino effect of joy and amusement of individuals, as well as set off a number of positive physical effects, including reduction of stress and blood pressure, improvement of mood, boost of the immune system, improvement of brain function, protection of the heart and relaxation. Individuals enjoy hearing funny stories, telling jokes and reminiscing of fun things. Some enjoy happiness through aromatherapy, such as the aroma of coffee or citrus smells, lavender and rose scents and even oils. Try some happiness with a funny movie, music, pictures of family members smiling or reading good jokes. It will reduce stress and enhance a person’s mood.
