Super 10’s begin District Tourney today
Ville Platte’s Super 10s won sub-district with an undefeated mark. Now the talented group will head west to Moss Bluff to do battle in the District Seven Tournament. The diamond action begins today.
Ville Platte does battle in game one of the event. They will take on the All-Stars from Westlake today at 5:30 p.m. Westlake is the third seed from the western area of the district.
A win for the local boys means they would play again on Saturday. That game would take place at 3 p.m. against the winner of the Moss Bluff National and Vernon National game. Moss Bluff National is the host of the contest.
A loss for VP in their first game would move them into the loser’s bracket of the double elimination event. They would have to face the loser of MBN and Vernon National. That game would take place Saturday at 11 a.m.
The event will also feature the All-Stars from Pine Prairie. The runner-up in sub-district, Pine Prairie will take on Sulphur National tomorrow at 8 p.m. Sulphur National is the second seed from the western part of the district.
A win for Pine Prairie pins them against the winner of Moss Bluff American (MBA) and DeRidder. That game would take place Saturday at 5 p.m. A loss for Pine Prairie sends them to the loser’s bracket to meet the loser of a contest were the teams are not yet determined. That contest would take place Sunday at 3 p.m.
The event is slated to play all the way to Wednesday, July 9th. The finals are set for 5:30 p.m. that day with an “if necessary” game set for 8 p.m. that night. It is a double elimination event.
The winner of District Seven will go to Metarie for the Dixie Youth Regional Tournament this year. The runner-up will head to Franklin for the Northern Regional.
