MHS Quarterback Club plans alumni tournament
The Mamou Quarterback Club is hosting the fifth annual Mamou High School/Vidrine High School Alumni Softball Tournament at the Mamou Ballpark July 25-27. Chris Reed will deejay Friday night for entertainment. Please come out to support MHS football/athletics. There will be plenty to eat and drink; and visiting with classmates is always a big part of this event.
Past proceeds have funded the following projects in the past few years:
Items purchased include weighted benches, weights and weight belts for MHS athletes. A refrigerator, washer and dryer, video camera and air conditioner were also purchased for the facilities.
The press box has been totally remodeled; and the locker room was sealed and repainted.
The Quarterback Club/Home Run Club is also responsible for the sprinkler system on the football field, as well as the dirt work, seeding and leveling of both the football and baseball fields.
Other projects funded by the organization include installing and painting of the goal post and installation of 25 second clocks, construction of new lockers in the locker room and feeding the football team and coaches a pre-game meal on several occasions. The group also contributes to many other fund raisers in the community.
Come and support the efforts of the Mamou Quarterback Club so that improvements may continue to be made. See you at the park! Go Demons!
