Thelma Soileau Fontenot

Funeral services were held for Thelma Soileau Fontenot, 88, of Ville Platte, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 5. Burial followed in the Old Ville Platte Cemetery.
Ms. Fontenot died Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
Survivors include three sons, Wayne Fontenot and his wife, Beverly, of Opelousas and Terryl Fontenot and his wife, Barbara, and Leroy Fontenot Jr. and his wife, Donna, all of Ville Platte; one daughter, Darlene F. Ferris and her husband, Timmy, of Prairie Rhonde; 10 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Elda F. Soileau; her husband, Leroy L. Fontenot Sr.; one son, Cecil Fontenot; one brother, Fredrick Soileau; and two sisters, Rosa Soileau and Mary Lee Carriere.
Father Jason Vidrine officiated.
