Funeral services were held for John Nelton Fontenot, 77, of Ville Platte, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 1 p.m., Monday, August 18. Burial followed in the Evangeline Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Fontenot died Sunday, August 17, 2014, at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Shuff Fontenot of Ville Platte; three sons, James Chris Fontenot of Cummings, Georgia, and Nick J. Fontenot and Timothy Fontenot, both of Ville Platte; one daughter, Marsha Fontenot of Ville Platte; one brother, Johnnie Fontenot of Ville Platte; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bertmnse and Isabelle McDaniel Fontenot; one brother, Paul Clyde Fontenot; and two grandsons, Christopher James Fontenot and Ryan K. Dupre.
