MAMOU - Funeral services were held for Celestine Fontenot Tate, 96, of Mamou, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 13. Burial followed in the Reed’s Cemetery.
A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Ms. Tate died Saturday, October 11, 2014, at Savoy Medical Center in Mamou.
Survivors include one daughter, Dianna Tate Fontenot and her husband, Blackie, of Mamou; one son-in-law, Joe Deshotel; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Etelle Tate; her parents, Josein and Elia Fontenot; and one daughter, Tarrel Tate Deshotel.
Father Mark Melancon officiated.
