Goodley charged with murder

Christopher Goodley, 21, who was taken into custody after the murder of his grandmother, 80-year-old Delsy Williams, has finally been officially charged with first-degree murder.
Williams, who according to family members took Goodley in after his release from prison on theft charges, was reported missing on November 1, from her home in the Kennedy Subdivision. Her body was found in a field the following day by a farmer and blood was located under her carport and on the rear of her vehicle.
Local law enforcement officials began a manhunt for Goodley when he became the prime suspect. He was located in an abandoned trailer home in Ville Platte and brought in for questioning. While he was not officially charged in this case at that time, he was held on a warrant for an unrelated burglary charge.
Goodley is set to go to district court in January for a hearing to face first-degree murder charges.
