Juveniles charged in Doucet shooting
Franco Doucet, who was shot during the evening of December 16, was released from an Alexandria hospital Friday, December 9.
Ville Platte police were called to the scene of the East Beech Street shooting about 7:30 p.m. and found Doucet lying on the ground.
He was transported to Mercy Regional Medical Center by Acadian Ambulance and later to an Alexandria hospital by Air Med.
On December 20, police arrested two men, age 30 and 23, for the attempted second-degree murder of Doucet. Police at that time said the case was still under investigation and that more arrests could be made.
Since then, those two men were released and, on January 6, two 16-year-old Ville Platte juveniles were charged with attempted second-degree murder in the case. Bond for one of the juveniles was set at $350,000 and the other was set at $275,000.
