Peggy Vidrine Hudspeth
May 19, 1956 - January 10, 2015
Funeral services were held for Peggy Vidrine Hudspeth, 58, of Ville Platte, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 11 a.m., Monday, January 12. Burial followed in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Belaire Cove.
Mrs. Hudspeth died Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Lafayette General Medical Center. She was not simply a teacher by trade, but she devoted her life to education and held a special place in her heart for all the children whose lives she touched. She was a proud graduate of LSU, where she received honors upon graduation. Her career in education included teaching second grade at Ville Platte Lower Elementary and serving as Assistant Principal and Master Teacher at Bayou Chicot Elementary. The education world has suffered a great loss, but her knowledge and inspiration will be carried on through her students. When not educating tomorrow’s leaders, she was a loving wife, daughter, mother, sister and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Roy Allen Hudspeth of Ville Platte; her parents, Earlis and Shirley Vidrine of Ville Platte; and two sons, Jacob Hudspeth and Lucas Hudspeth, both of Ville Platte. Also left behind to treasure her memory are her three brothers, Chris Vidrine and his wife, Becky, Danny Vidrine and his wife, Letitia, and Philip Vidrine, all of Ville Platte; one sister, Maria Sittig of Ville Platte; and one grandson, Colin Hudspeth of New Orleans.
She was preceded in death by one son, Brady Paul Hudspeth.
Father Jason Vidrine officiated.
