swamp pop reunion tickets on sale

Swamp Pop Museum Director Janie Knighten has something you’ll probably want to get. Certainly by Monday, February 16 -- Lundi Gras. That’s when the museum will have its annual Swamp Pop reunion at the Civic Center. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the music starts at 7 p.m. Eighteen artists are skeduled to appear at the event this year. There will be a cash bar and gumbo. Per-person tickets for $20 includes admission to the Swamp Pop Museum the day of the reunion. Tickets are being sold at Ville Platte City Hall, at the museum on Fridays and Saturdays (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.). Knighten said businesses and individuals have begun donating and others are making plans to do so.
