Heritage Manor News: Happy Valentine’s Day!

We wish each and everyone a very Happy Valentine’s Day. We appreciate all of you that have purchased suckers for this occasion. Each individual will receive their personalized Valentine and sucker on Saturday, February 14. If you have not purchased any yet, but wish to do so, please call or come by. The origin of Valentine’s Day is held by tradition and perhaps some legend to be attributed to St. Valentine, a Christian martyr in 270 A.D. in the Roman Empire. He was said to be a temple priest who secretly married soldiers and assisted Christians in need. This was against the law during his time in history, since it was desired by the Roman authorities that soldiers remain single, and to be a Christina was punishable by death. Valentine was imprisoned and legend holds that he healed the jailer’s daughter. Before he was executed he sent her a farewell letter signed from your Valentine.
