City works to keep CenturyLink office open
With CenturyLink scheduled to close its Ville Platte store on February 20, Mayor Jennifer Vidrine has contacted CenturyLink’s Vice President of Operations Karen Crabtree to voice her opposition to this closure.
“We’re working to keep this office open,” Vidrine said. “It is very important to have this store here and we will not take this sitting down.”
Vidrine said she was “angry” at this closure and at CenturyLink for “not having the courtesy to notify anyone ahead of time that the store would be closing.”
Vidrine reported that since speaking with Crabtree, the sign on the front of the Ville Platte store now reads that it will be temporarily closed, instead of permanently closed, on February 20. Vidrine has said she will be speaking more to CenturyLink representatives early this week in the hope of finding a way to keep this store open in Ville Platte.
