Lady Panthers win two in Northwood tournament

The Pine Prairie Lady Panthers traveled to Shreveport on Saturday to participate in the Northwood-Shreveport softball tournament. The Lady Panthers battled frigid temperatures and snow and ice to pick up two wins on the day. Here is a summary of both contests.
Pine Prairie vs. Minden
The Lady Panthers took care of the Minden Crimson Tide in a very quick three innings of play. Pine Prairie scored early and often defeating the Tide 17-0. Alexis Hammond picked up the win giving up only one hit while striking out two and walking three. Shaina Boutte led all Lady Panther hitters going two for three with a homerun and a double. Rani Ardoin was two for four with a double, while Tori Bordelon was two for two with two doubles.
Pine Prairie vs. Northwood-Shreveport
Pine Prairie took on the host team in their second tournament game, scoring a 7-2 win. Alexis Hammond took to the mound giving up two runs on one hit, while striking out seven and walking two. Julia Chaddrick went two for three with a home run and two runs scored. Sabrina Fontenot was one for three with a double. The Lady Panthers are now 2-0 on the season.
