Lady Panthers go one for three this weekend

The Pine Prairie Lady Panthers took part in the Bunkie Tournament this past weekend and took on some very formidable opponents. The Lady Panthers were able to earn a win out of the three games played to run their record to 3-2 on the season. Here are the results of those games.
Pine Prairie and class 4A Neville took to the diamond; the result was a shootout. The Neville Lady Tigers outlasted the Lady Panthers 17-16 to pick up the win. Pine Prairie took the early 2-0 lead in the third inning. A seven run fourth inning gave Neville the 7-2 lead. The Lady Panthers responded with a two-run fifth cut into the Lady Tiger lead. The sixth inning became a scoring fest as both teams combined for 16 runs; with the Lady Panthers taking the 14-13 lead.
Neville struck again in the seventh plating four runs. Pine Prairie could only answer with two runs in the last inning to close out the game.
Leading the way for the Lady Panthers at the plate was Macy Harvey who went one for one with a three-run home run and scored twice. Julia Chaddrick was two for four with a double and triple and two runs scored. Shaina Boutte was three for five with two triples and three runs scored.
It only took five innings for the Lady Panthers to dispose of Leesville 11-1 in game two. Pine Prairie did not score thier first run of the game until the fourth inning.
The Lady Panthers tied the game at 1-1 in the fourth, after the Lady Wampus Cats had plated a run in the third. Pine Prairie then proceeded to explode in the fifth inning scoring 10 runs to end the game.
Rani Ardoin went three for four in the game with two doubles and two runs scored. Macey Harvey batted two for four with two runs scored, while Tori Bordleon went two for three with a double.
The Lady Panthers could not manage much offense against the Natchitoches Central Lady Chiefs, but were able to push the game into extra innings before succumbing 5-2 in game three. The game remained scoreless until the fifth inning when the Lady Chiefs picked up two runs.
The Lady Panthers answered with a run in the sixth inning when Julia Chaddrick crossed the plate. Pine Prairie tied the game in the seventh when Sara Tate touched home plate. Natchitoches Central pulled ahead in the ninth with three runs. The Lady Panthers had no answer in the bottom of the inning, ending the game.
