Jerry R. “Blackie” Fontenot

MAMOU - Funeral services were held for Jerry R. “Blackie” Fontenot, 70, of Mamou, at First Baptist Church in Pine Prairie at 11 a.m., Monday, March 16. Burial followed in the Reed Cemetery in Mamou.
Mr. Fontenot died Friday, March 13, 2015, at St. Landry Extended Care Hospital in Opelousas.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Dianna Tate Fontenot of Mamou; two sons, Jerry “Sunny” Fontenot Jr. of Mamou and Joshua Fontenot and his wife, Dawn Padon, of Baltimore, Maryland; one daughter, Jessica Fontenot and her husband, Michael, of Mamou; and the apples of his eye, his four precious grandchildren, Jacob Williams, Katie Fontenot and Justine and Emily Fontenot.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Adelaide Fontenot; and his siblings, Brad, Morris and Verline Fontenot.
Pastor Keith Sheridan officiated.
