Demons drop three in Eunice

The Mamou Demon baseball team participated in the Eunice High Tournament this past weekend, competing against three of the best teams from around the area. The Demons gave a valiant effort, but could not come up with a victory in any one of the three games played. Mamou lost to Breaux Bridge on Friday 11-5 and went down in defeat on Saturday to Cecilia by the score of 14-6. Sunday the Demons lost a close 4-1 contest to the St. Edmund Blue Jays. Mamou now drops to 1-8 on the year. Here is a rundown of those tournament games.
In the first game, Mamou took the early 1-0 after one inning of play, only to have the Tigers score nine runs in the bottom of the second to open up an eight run advantage. The Demons added another run in the fifth, but surrendered two more in the sixth to fall behind 11-2. Mamou tried to mount a comeback in the top of the seventh, but could only muster three runs.
