Heritage Manor News: Observing Palm Sunday
Sunday, March 29, is Palm Sunday. This is the beginning of Holy Week leading up to Easter Sunday. The word holy means set apart, unique or one of a kind. Holy Week for Christians is to be observed as a time that is set apart from all other weeks of the year. It begins on Palm Sunday and ends on Holy Saturday, April 4. This week is a time of fasting, prayer and repentance. Good Friday is the day of remembrance of great sorrow that Jesus was brutally executed by the Romans. Holy Saturday is a solemn day to reflect on the suffering and death of Jesus.
Our Easter Week activities include jingo for prizes, egg dyeing with the Cajunettes, Good Friday Way of the Cross and bunny bingo.
Other activities include Come Lord Jesus group, pokeno, group exercise, in-room visits, happy hour, manicures, arts and crafts and card games.
We thank our friends and volunteers that assisted us throughout the year, keeping our residents happy. We look forward to seeing all active volunteers at our annual Volunteer Appreciation Supper on Tuesday, April 14. If you would like to begin volunteering, please give us a call or come by for more information.
The staff of Heritage Manor sends get-well wishes to Robert Ewert. We wish him a speedy recovery.
The staff of Heritage Manor wishes a Happy Birthday this week to Elise Vidrine and Dorothy Edwards.
We are gearing up for our annual regional pageant. Mr. Preston Aucoin and Ms. Bobbie McCauley will be competing against 23 other area nursing home kings and queens in the Region III Pageant in Arnaudville on April 8. We are very proud of them and wish them the best of luck. We know they will do a great job representing Heritage Manor.
