Evangeline Parish weekly softball roundup

The following are game summaries for softball games played this past week by parish softball teams.

Mamou vs.
DeQuincy

The Mamou Lady Demons were looking to stay unblemished in district play when they hosted the DeQuincy Lady Tigers on Wednesday. The Lady Demons had already beaten DeQuincy earlier in the year by the score of 6-5. Unfortunately for Mamou, the Lady Tigers were able to control the Lady Demon offense to take the 2-1 win. With the loss, Mamou drops to 9-8 on the year and 6-1 in district.
The Lady Demons picked up their lone run in the bottom of the first when Maggie Soileau doubled home Madison Trahan. DeQuincy’s two runs both came in the top of the fourth inning. Mamou was held to five total hits in the game.
Amber Manuel suffered the loss on the mound, allowing two runs on three hits. Manuel struck out five and walked two in the loss.
At the plate, Kourtnie Deshotels was two for three to lead all Lady Demons. Soileau went one for three with one run batted in. Madison Trahan went one for three with a run scored.
