Lady Panthers earn two non-district wins
On Saturday, the Pine Prairie Lady Panthers hit the road to Glenmora to play two non-district games. The Lady Panthers scored a close 6-5 win over the Glenmora Lady Wildcats in the first game. Game two saw Pine Prairie blast the Forest Lady Bulldogs 19-3. With the two victories, the Lady Panthers are now 17-5 on the year. Here is a summary of both games played.
Pine Prairie
vs. Glemora
In game one, the Lady Panthers and the Lady Wildcats went scoreless in the first inning of the game. Glenmora was able to pick up a run in the bottom of the second to the early 1-0 lead. Pine Prairie could not get anything going offensively for the first three innings. The Lady Wildcats stretched their lead to 5-0, plating four more runs in the bottom of the third inning.
Needing to get back on track, the Lady Panthers began their eventual comeback in the top of the fourth inning. Leading off the inning, Tori Johnson reached base on an error by the third baseman. The very next hitter, Shaina Boutte doubled to left-center field scoring Johnson. Sabrina Fontenot popped up to the second baseman for the first out. With one out and the count 1-0, Sara Tate blasted a two-run home run over the center field wall, cutting the Lady Wildcat lead to 5-3. Macey Harvey struck out and Tori Bordelon popped out to the shortstop to end the inning.
The fourth and fifth inning proved to be uneventful, as neither squad could manage any offense. As the seventh inning began, Pine Prairie faced the possibility of losing a close game. However, the Lady Panthers showed the resolve needed to overtake Glenmora, scoring three more runs to gain the 6-5 lead. Bordelon, Reagan Reed and Alexis Hammond all crossed the plate in the inning. With the game on the line, Pine Prairie was able to shut out the Lady Wildcats in the bottom of the seventh to secure the win.
Boutte led all Lady Panthers at the plate, going two for three with a double, a run scored and a run batted in. Tate was one for three with a run scored and two runs batted in.

vs. Forest
Game two was a stark contrast from game one. Against the Lady Bulldogs, Pine Prairie displayed an offensive barrage in their 15 run rule win. The Lady Panthers gave up three runs in the first inning, but were able to shut down Forest the rest of the way. Meanwhile, Pine Prairie scored seven runs in the first and 13 runs in the second to crush the Lady Bulldogs.
Tori Johnson earned the win on the mound, throwing three complete innings. Johnson allowed three runs on one hit, while striking out two and walking three. Julia Chaddrick led the way at the plate, going two for three with a double and a run scored. Also gathering multiple hits were Macey Harvey and Tori Bordelon, who were both two for three.
