Serving jail time for charity
To kick off this Saturday’s Relay For Life Event, the Cops For A Cure team (Ville Platte Police Department) held a Jail and Bail fundraiser for the Evangeline Parish Relay For Life. The team served fundraising warrants to multiple people in the parish and challenged them to fund raise for a cure. Those who turned themselves in have raised over $1,900 to date. “We appreciate the participation and support of all involved,” said Connie Lamke, event coordinator for Evangeline Parish Relay For Life. “The money we raise helps those affected by cancer in our parish. That’s why our support and efforts mean so much.”
