Mary Mae Veillon Prudhomme

CHURCH POINT - Funeral services will be held for Mary Mae Veillon Prudhomme, 76, of Church Point, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point at 11 a.m., Friday, June 12. Burial will follow in the Msgr. Bienvenu Cemetery.
A native of Ville Platte, Ms. Prudhomme died Sunday, June 7, 2015, at the Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home in Church Point. A member of the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Choir for many years, Mrs. Prudhomme was the 2014 Mardi Gras Queen of Le Vieux Presbytere of Church Point.
Survivors include two sons, Chad L. Prudhomme and his wife, Jeannie, of Lafayette and Cory Prudhomme of Church Point; one daughter, Phyllis Prudhomme-Rogers and her husband, Kirk, of San Diego, California; one brother, Roland Veillon and his wife, Brenda, of Ville Platte; one sister, Marjorie Castoria of New York City, New York; and six grandchildren: Ian and Kent Rogers of San Diego, California, Sebastian and Abbey Prudhomme of Eunice and Joshua and Mallory Prudhomme of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Prudhomme; one son, Dwight Prudhomme; and her parents, Eugia and Dora Fontenot Veillon.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m., Thursday, June 11, and Friday, June 12, from 8 a.m. until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 7 p.m., Thursday evening, by Seminarian Cade Leblanc.
The family asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home-PAC in care of Sarah Sonnier.
Msgr. Jefferson J. DeBlanc will officiate.
