Dr. Steven Francis Fontenot

A memorial service was held for Dr. Steven Francis Fontenot, 70, of Ventress, at the Nyland Funeral Home Chapel in New Roads on Sunday, May 31.
A native of Ville Platte, Dr. Fontenot died Sunday, May 24, 2015, at his residence. He was a retired veterinarian. He was a graduate of Ville Platte High School, the University of Southwestern Louisiana and the Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine in Auburn, Alabama.
Survivors include one daughter, Laura Fontenot Bly of Zachary; one son, Christopher Steven Fontenot and his wife, Bobbie, of Walker; four grandchildren; one brother, Richard Wayne Fontenot and his wife, Sandra, of Ville Platte; one sister, Vickie Lynn Fontenot of Baton Rouge; and two aunts, Ursula Miller of Ville Platte and Celia Fontenot of Charleston, South Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Susan Ryder Fontenot and Debbie Crosbie Fontenot; one son, Steven Charles Fontenot; his parents, Francis F. Fontenot and Lillian Amacker Fontenot; and one brother, Clayton Fontenot.
