Heritage Manor News: Promoting hydration
Activity staff members play an important role when it comes to hydrating residents. Many of the things we do are tied to providing refreshments. We take advantage of this by offering extra fluids throughout the summer months. We promote juices, water and non-caffeinated beverages. Happy hour takes place every Tuesday and consists of drinks and a snack. Residents enjoy the different flavors of juice or punch served. Of course, we always have a cooler filled with a variety of drinks to choose from during an outing or cookout. We also serve snow cones, which is a colorful way to encourage hydration and a real treat for residents. Dehydration in nursing home residents is a common problem. We strive to keep residents healthy and maximize their well being to reduce unecessary health problems.
We congratulate Angela Fontenot, July employee of the month, and Mercedes Lafleur, resident of the month.
