MARRERO - Funeral services were held for Tanya Guidry Durand, 62, of Marrero, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Marrero at 1 p.m., Thursday, July 11.
Ms. Durand died Friday, July 10, 2015. She was a beloved teacher who taught at Immaculate Conception School in Marrero for 29 years. She was happiest when cheering on the LSU Tigers and Atlanta Braves, visiting Walt Disney World theme park and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her loving husband of 42 years, David Lea Durand; two sisters, Carol Guidry Veillon (Charles, deceased) and Maureen Guidry Buller (Joey); one son, Francis Gene Durand (Kristin); and one daughter, Lauren Durand Rogers. She was a wonderful grandmother to her treasured grandchildren, Kailyn Rose, Jarel James and Camille Grace. She was also aunt to several nieces and nephews in New Orleans, Lafayette and Mississippi.
She was preceded in death by her father, Maxwell Jerome Guidry; her mother, Mary Joyce Manuel Guidry; and one brother, Francis Gene Guidry.
