Heritage Manor News: National Picnic Month

It’s official, July is National Picnic Month. Although the temperatures are soaring, it has been said that it is time to pack up the basket with good summer treats, have fun in the sun and enjoy the peace of nature with family and good friends. Barbecues in the backyard, at the park or on the beach are a favorite activity. These outings strengthen the reconnection of family ties. Other fun summer things to do at the picnic site are swimming, fishing, hiking, boating or flying kites. Remember to pack the bug spray.
2015 is already more than halfway over. School will soon be back in full swing and will prevent families from planning outings to go out and enjoy as freely as they can now. So take advantage of your leisure time now and go out and enjoy your life with the people that mean the most to you.
Activities this week include in-room visits, manicures, bingo sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, group therapy, horseshoes, service by Washington Baptist Church, Come Lord Jesus group, jingo, mass and pokeno.
The staff of Heritage Manor wishes a Happy Birthday this week to Lou Ella Fontenot.
The staff of Heritage Manor welcomes Marjorhey Wilson and Nora Deville to the facility.
Residents will be attending the Silver Eagle Social in Pine Prairie as their monthly outing and they are looking forward to seeing everyone.
We thank our faithful supporters for their generosity of prizes and monetary donations that make it possible for residents to enjoy bingo games and parties. We thank Blake Vidrine, Matthew Soileau and the therapy department for their most recent donations of prizes for our annual raffle. This raffle allows residents to enjoy an annual trip to the casino and enjoy the Cajun Buffet there.
