VP Police arrest man for attempted burglary

Early Wednesday morning July 29, the Ville Platte Police Department responded to a report of an alarm activation at a business in the 1200 block of West Main Street.
After arriving at the scene officers discovered that the suspect had attempted to gain entry to the building through a door causing damage to the door. Officers also discovered that damage was caused to electrical, phone and surveillance equipment.
Detective Larry Fontenot was assigned the case and upon further investigation evidence was collected which led to the identification of the suspect and a warrant was issued.
On July 30, 2015 Detective Fontenot located and arrested Robert T. Gallow, 39 of 102 West Pine Street, Ville Platte. Gallow was booked without incident into the Ville Platte City Jail on charges of criminal damage to property and attempted burglary. Gallow remains incarcerated on a $30,000.00 bond set by Judge Ortego.
While executing the warrant on Gallow, Detective Larry Fontenot and Detective Jessica Laborde located a large amount of narcotics and arrested Richard Serie 40, of 102 West Pine Street, Ville Platte and charged him with possession of a schedule 1 with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and uniform controlled dangerous substance in a drug free zone.  Serie’s was booked into the Ville Platte City Jail and remains incarcerated on a $35,000.00 bond set by Judge Ortego.
