An emergency burn ban has been issued for Evangeline Parish. Police Jury President Ryan Ardoin says the order is the result of the extremely dry weather conditions in the parish. The order bans all private burning and is in effect until further notice. Earlier in the week, the town of Pine Prairie issued a burn barn of its own.
