The Evangeline Parish Fire District two discussed the purchase of a new air conditioning unit for the Faugbaug Fire Station at its August 11th meeting.
Fire Chief Chris Harrison asked for the board’s recommendation on if the current AC should be repaired or completely replaced. Board Member Hunter Soileau suggested that the eight-year-old unit be replaced.
Board Member Steve Thibodeaux’s motion to approve the $3,953.00 purchase for the Faugbaug station was approved unanimously.
The EP Fire District two will also be purchasing a $9,360.00 rescue pump to replace the current one on their rescue truck. Chief Harrison stated, “If the one we have now breaks there will be no way to fix it because the kind we have is no longer being made.”
The new rescue pump has been tested on the rescue truck and according to Harrison “it fits perfect.”
Purchase of the new pump was approved unanimously.
The EP Fire District two’s next meeting will be held on September 8, 2015.
