Doward "Frank" Fontenot

April 8, 1947 - August 23, 2015
Funeral services were held for Doward “Frank” Fontenot, 68, of Ville Platte, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Chataignier at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 25. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Fontenot died Sunday, August 23, 2015, at Savoy Medical Center in Mamou. Frank, as he was called by those that knew him, was the owner and operator of Frank’s Auto and Truck Repair for over 40 years. After retirement, he enjoyed farming sweet potatoes and vegetables. His greatest love, however, was spending time with his beloved wife of 27 years, Constance “Connie” Stanek Fontenot and his family.
Survivors include his wife, Constance “Connie” Stanek Fontenot of Ville Platte; three sons, David Johnson and his wife, Tammy, of Tate Cove, Scott Johnson and his companion, Lisa Johnson, of Bayou Chicot and Richard Alagad of Chataignier; and four daughters, Mary Veillon of L’anse Aux Pailles, Louise Vidrine and her husband, John Roderick, of Belaire Cove, Linda McGee of Ville Platte and Christina LeJeune and her husband, William, of Chataignier. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his three brothers, Stanley Fontenot and his wife, Gloria, of Reddell, Steven Fontenot and his companion, Janelle Marks, of Point Blue and Roderick Richard and his wife, Brenda, of Evangeline; six sisters, Loretta Prejean and her husband, Charles, of Carencro, Anna Veillon and her husband, Darryl, of L’anse Aux Pailles, Brenda Fontenot and her husband, Benny, of Ville Platte, Linda Chapman and her husband, Gerald, of Pine Prairie, JoAnn Carrol and her husband, Johnny, of Hornbeck and Irene Armand and her husband, Ed, of Ville Platte; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Lou Elda LeBleu Fontenot; one brother, Pierre “Tiny” Fontenot; and one sister, Mary Joyce Johnson. 
Deacon Chuck Ortego officiated.
