Mary “Wyn” Fontenot Thompson

MAMOU - Funeral services were held for Mary “Wyn” Fontenot Thompson, 78, of Mamou, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou at 2:30 p.m., Monday, October 26. Burial followed in the New St. Ann’s Cemetery.
Ms. Thompson died Saturday, October 24, 2015, at her residence. She enjoyed reading. She also enjoyed cooking. Spending time with her family was very important to her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include three daughters, Angela Gravlin Fruge of Eunice, Karen Gravlin Soileau and her husband, Dr. Kirk Soileau, of Ville Platte and Suzanne Gravlin LaHaye and her husband, Kenneth, of Vidrine; nine grandchildren, Lynn McDaniel, Adam LaFleur, Amy Daigle, Greg Soileau, Ross Soileau, Brook Soileau, Rachel Touzet, Robert LaHaye and Leigh Katherine LaHaye; 14 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jessilyn “Jessie” Aucoin of Jeanerette.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Isom and Esther Lee Fontenot; and four sisters, Ethel Young, Juanita McGee, Gertie Thibodeaux and Linda Johnson.
Father Alphonse Thainese officiated.
