Betty Verrett Pelican

EUNICE - Funeral services were held for Betty Verrett Pelican, 73, at the Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice at 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 23. Burial followed in the St. Andrew Cemetery.
Ms. Pelican died Monday, December 21, 2015, at the Thibodaux Regional Medical Center in Thibodaux. She was a homemaker and devoted her heart and soul to her home and family. She was a great cook, gardener, baker and she loved to sew. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include two sons, John Pelican Jr. of Basile and Joshua Kirkland of Louisville, Kentucky; one daughter, Flora Howell of Duralde; three brothers, Douglas Verrett of Bayou L’Ourse, Donald Verrett of Mobile, Alabama, and Russell Verrett of Bayou Vista; three sisters, Anna Olivier of Eunice, Judy Cochran of Toledo Bend and Patricia Vice of Bayou L’Ourse; six grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, as well as extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Cynthia Pelican Boone; one son, Maxell Pelican; and three siblings.
Father Tom Voorhies officiated.
