The Sacred Heart Trojans and Lady Trojans took to the road for a non-district battle against Loreauville this past Friday night.
The Lady Trojans once again showed why they are always in the mix at the end of the year for a playoff appearance, as they decimated the Lady Tigers 45-18.
The Trojans, a very young squad still trying to get a rhythm going before district starts, fell to the athletic Tigers 66-42.
Here is a recap of the two games.

Sacred Heart (G) vs. Loreauville
Sacred Heart brought their defensive A-game Friday night against the Lady Tigers.
The Lady Trojans opened the game by not allowing Loreauville any breathing room, holding the Lady Tigers scoreless in the first quarter to take a 13-0 lead.
Sacred Heart continued that effort in the second quarter. The Lady Trojans stymied Loreauville on the offensive end and took a 9-4 advantage in the quarter to take a 22-4 lead into the locker room.
The Lady Tigers found some semblence of offense in the third quarter, outscoring the Lady Trojans 12-7.
However, Sacred Heart did not let the mental lapse deter them in the fourth quarter, as they outpaced Loureauville 16-2 in the final quarter.
“Our team is relenteless on defense,” stated head coach Stephanie Fontenot. “It is fun to watch this team gel and get better every week. They never give up. We are looking forward to district.”
Gabbie Andrepont led all Lady Trojans with 18 points.
Sacred Heart will travel Tuesday to Crowley to face off against Nortre Dame in their first district contest of the year.

Sacred Heart (B) vs. Loreauville
Sacred Heart started the game with a laser focus as they pushed past Loreauville 12-11 in the first quarter.
But, the Tigers athleticism and quickness took over, as the Tigers quickly righted the ship to out gun the Trojans 24-9 in the second quarter, taking a 35-21 lead as the first half buzzer sounded.
The Trojans came out of the locker room with a renewed since of urgency and hung tough with the Tigers, as Loreauville took a 16-12 advantage in the quarter.
However, Sacred Heart was not able to make up the difference in the fourth quarter, as the Tigers out gained the Trojans 20-11 to close out the game.
Seth Shipp led the way for Sacred Heart with 16 points, while Keaton Tate added 15 points.
The Trojans will not return to action until the 22nd when they will travel to Opelousas to face Opelousas Catholic in a district game.
