Harold Lee Foret

Funeral services will be held for Harold Lee Foret, 84, of Ville Platte, at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 23. Burial will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, Mr. Foret died Sunday, January 17, 2016, in Lafayette. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans. He retired with the Louisiana Department of Highways and is probably remembered most as a bookkeeper for many local businesses. He enjoyed cooking, hunting, fishing and playing poker.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Lucille Moreau Foret of Ville Platte; three sons, Randall Foret and his wife, Robin, of Houston, Texas, Todd Foret and his wife, Susan, of Lafayette and Patrick Foret and his wife, Rae Ann, of Metairie; and two daughters, Patricia Foret Nezat of Opelousas and Jessica Foret Wax and her husband, Todd, of Santa Fe, New Mexico. He is also survived by one sister, Joycelyn Foret Lee of Opelousas; and two sisters-in-law, Mercedes Soileau Foret and Faye F. Foret, both of Ville Platte. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his eight grandchildren, Laura Nezat, Matthew Nezat, Jacob Sellers, Rachel Foret, Ryan Foret, Grant Foret, Luke Foret and Sarah Wax.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orise and Adile Pitre Foret; and two brothers, Joseph Huey Foret and James Byron Foret.
At the request of the Foret family, a visitation will be held Friday, January 22, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and will reopen Saturday, January 23, at 9 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be prayed in Mr. Foret’s honor Friday evening at 6 p.m.
Father Richard Vidrine (Foret’s cousin) will officiate.
