Area agency helping pay energy bills for qualified low income households

Evangeline Community Action Agency, Inc. has announced the availability of funds dedicated to assist eligible low income households with their energy payments.
All applicants are taken by appointment only. ECAA will begin taking calls on Monday, Jan. 25.
For those who are elderly (60 years or older) you must call on Monday between the hours of 8 a.m. to noon or between 1 and 4 p.m.
For general public applicants you must call between 8 a.m. and noon or between 1 and 4 p.m. on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Applicants must provide the following documentation at the time the application is taken: 1) Social Security Card for each household member, 2) current proof of income of all household members, 3) a driver’s license or pictured I.D. of the applicant matching the applicant’s current address, 4) a copy of an energy bill dated within the last six months.
All information provided is subject to verification. Intentional misrepresentation may result in criminal prosecution of the applicant and anyone assisting the applicant.
