Here is a recap on games played Friday night.

Ville Platte (G) vs. Northwest
The Ville Platte Lady Bulldogs remained undefeated in district with a 52-40 win over Northwest.
Kealogah Calvin led Ville Platte with 14 points.

Ville Platte (B) vs. Northwest
Ville Platte picked up their first district win of the season, as they slid past Northwest 61-55 Friday night.
Martin Jason led the Bulldogs with 14 points.

Pine Prairie (G) vs. Port Barre
A huge 49-40 win over Port Barre allowed the Lady Panthers their second win in a row in district 5-3A.
Sarah Vidrine paced Pine Prairie with 13 points.

Pine Prairie (B) vs. Port Barre
Pine Prairie needed one overtime to slip past Port Barre, 69-66, in a key district 5-3A contest.
Darnell Durgin’s 18 points helped the Panthers secure the win.

Mamou(G)
vs. Lake Arthur
In a battle of undefeated teams in District 4-2A, the Mamou Lady Demons took sole possession of first place with a 60-57 win over Lake Arthur
The Lady Demons were led by Arkkeiyanah Thomas, who scored 17 points.

Mamou (B) vs. Lake Arthur
Mamou moves to a perfect 4-0 in District 4-2A with their dominating 70-56 win over Lake Arthur.
JaQuaylon Arvie burned the nets for 25 points in the win.

Basile (G) vs. St. Edmund’s
The Basile Lady Bearcats stayed in the district 5-1A title hunt with a 46-38 over long time rival St. Ed’s.
Basile was led by Rylie James who scored a net scorching 27 points.

Basile (B) vs. St. Edmund’s
The Basile Bearcats fell to 3-1 in District 5-1A play, as they took a 68-45 loss on the chin from their Highway 190 rivals St. Ed’s
Tyree Bracy led the Bearcats with 12 points.

Sacred Heart (B) vs. Opelousas Cath.
In their first action on the court since January 8, the Sacred Heart Trojans downed Opelousas Catholic in a thrilling 46-45 win.
Seth Shipp helped seal the win with a game high 24 points for the Trojans.

Basile ruling overturned
The ruling by the LHSAA concerning the ineligibility of wrestlers because of being underweight has been overturned and the athletes in question are now eligible again according to officials at the school.
